In related news, Twitter brought this to breakfast:
"... Lady Greenfield told the House of Lords that children's experiences on social networking sites "are devoid of cohesive narrative and long-term significance. As a consequence, the mid-21st century mind might almost be infantilised, characterised by short attention spans, sensationalism, inability to empathise and a shaky sense of identity." This is an interesting blog. We live in a disposable generation. Everything in our children's lives is disposable. As parents we need to encourage technology, but with discretion. It all goes back to basics with the family. "The world" can push, push, push, but parents need to step up to the plate and do their part in educating our youth. Schools cannot do this alone!!

I think our generation is not given enough credit for using media responsibly. I made a video in response to this issue http://www.personalbrandingblog.com/are-we-the-dumbest-generation/comment-page-1/#comment-278245#mfjs2210
